What Are The Benefits Of Taking A Warm Bath?

A few days ago, we asked our followers and customers which type of bath they preferred - a cold or a warm one? And the most common answer we got was that they enjoyed a warm bath more than a cold one. And it's no wonder because taking a warm bath has a lot of benefits. Here are some of them:

Reduces Headaches

There is nothing as annoying as a persistent headache. The most common cause for everyday headaches is the narrowing of the blood vessels in your head. The pressure caused by the narrowing of blood vessels is what causes the pain.

However, did you know that a warm bath can help you get rid of your headache? The warm water and steam from the bath help in relieving the pressure of the narrowing of your blood vessels, improving the circulation and relieving you from that pesky headache.

Improves the condition of your skin

We have all faced skin issues throughout our lives. No matter whether your skin is easily irritated, or you are struggling with something as simple as blackheads – the skin issues are there. But, they don’t have to be! When you take a long steamy bath it opens up your pores significantly, making it easier to clean your skin.

The moisture of the water, even though it makes your skin wrinkly, is actually very beneficial for your skin. Warm water moisturizes your skin and leaves it moist for longer which in turn prevents the cracks on your skin caused by dry skin.

Even if your skin is irritated, a warm bath actually has a soothing and calming effect on your skin, helping it to recover faster.

Relieving Muscle Pain

If you have been trying to get back into shape by going to the gym, one of the most common issues that you can face is feeling like you have been hit by a truck the next day.

Muscle pain is the reason why many people quit working out too soon, while in reality there is a simple fix for relieving the muscle pain. You guessed right! The solution is taking a warm bath.

The warm bath will relax your muscles and the tension in them, and the increase of temperature will block out the pain sensors in your body which in turn will relieve your muscle pain.

Eases cold and flu symptoms

When you catch one of those nasty colds or flu, they can be really annoying. Not only are you feeling weak and unable to get out of bed, but your nose is clogged, and you can’t breathe. Not to mention the persistent cough that doesn’t let you get the rest that you need. All of these issues can be solved by simply taking a warm bath.

When you take a warm bath, your whole body will relax. The steam from the warm water will moisturize your nasal passages and your throat, which are the most often reasons for persistent cough and getting a clogged nose. You can even accompany your bath with a two to three drops of a eucalyptus essential oil to further ease off your cold/flu symptoms.

Improves the quality of sleep

There is nothing worse than not being able to sleep after a long, hard day at work. Somehow, no matter how tired you are, you can’t fall asleep no matter what you do. A simple solution to not only falling asleep faster but also improving your quality of sleep is taking a warm bath before you go to bed.

A 20-minute soak will help you relieve the tension of your muscles, and to get your body temperature up. When you leave the bath, your body rapidly cools down. The combination of the drop of your body temperature and the relaxation of your muscles will help you to fall asleep faster, and get a good night’s rest.

With all of these amazing benefits of a warm bath – what are you waiting for? Soak up, and relax!
