Ways to level up your bath routine

Taking a bath is a part of everyone’s regular routine. Whether it is daily or 3 to 4 times a week, we have to do it to clean our skin. Sometimes it is also our way to give ourselves a short break from the chaos of our lives. It feels nice that even if it just as shorts as 15 minutes, we still manage to give ourselves a break. Everyone deserves a break. So maybe the next time you decide to take a bath, you should level it up. Here are a few ways to level up your bath.

Listening to music. Listening to music while bathing, and singing the lyrics strengthens several brain functions such as attention, memory and concentration. All you need to do is memorize and repeat the lyrics. How many times has a song got stuck in your brain and you can’t get it out of your head? Hands up those who have never experienced this! It improves your mood. Singing gives you a dose of enthusiasm and a sense of happiness and positivity that is contagious and makes you feel euphoric. Singing makes your brain release endorphins, stimulating the release of serotonin and oxytocin, triggering feelings of pleasure and joy. Singing, especially when done enthusiastically, makes you move most of the muscles in your body, especially the ones in your face. It’s an exercise that has powerful benefits for muscle elasticity and also for the skin as singing provides elasticity while delaying the appearance of wrinkles. Bravo for music!

Lighting a scented candle while taking a bath. Scented candles are perfect for making a soft, warm glow that’s just enough to see by, but isn’t harsh or strong. Light plays an important part in relaxation, since we’re biologically designed to have more energy and adrenalin in bright light conditions, such as day time, and then to calm down and relax as light decreases. And, of course, scented candles will produce a beautiful scent. Aromatherapy uses scented oils and smells to provoke certain moods or feelings. By having the right scent in your bathroom, you can promote relaxation. Aromatherapy is an excellent, pharmaceutical free, way to encourage your body to calm itself and relax after a long day at work. And adding the smell of certain scents will enhance your bathing experience.

Detox yourself from using your phone while taking a bath. Even if just for 15 minutes, do not use your phone while taking because. Other than your phone might drown from the water, there are also a few benefits from detoxing yourself from using your phone. Like Reduces Stress and Anxiety. Unplugging from technology is like a reboot for your brain. When you’re not bombarded by dozens of emails, constantly looking at news alerts on your phone or mindlessly scrolling through channels or movie titles to find something to watch, your mind can slow down, relax and be in the present moment. And Opportunity to Focus on Appreciation and Gratitude. Powering down from time to time allows you to reset and refocus appreciation and gratitude for all you’ve been given.

Putting plants in your bathroom. An obvious but crucial benefit of having plants in your bathroom is that they look amazing. Indoor plants add immense aesthetic appeal to any area and create an extra dimension of style to the design of the room. Other than it is aesthetically pleasing, putting plants in your bathroom can level up your bathing routine. Believe it or not, there is a regular amount of toxins floating around your house. Even if you’re a clean freak, those toxins still remain. Many studies show that the air in your home actually contains up to five times the number of pollutants than outside air. This is especially the case since most heating and cooling systems recycle the air in your home and don’t expel the toxins. Between your beauty products, cleaning products, and human waste in the bathroom, it’s hard to escape those harmful molecules. The good news is, having a plant in your bathroom can actually reduce the amount of toxins in the air. While plants pull carbon dioxide out of the air and replace it with oxygen, they also filter the air of harmful toxins. With a bathroom plant, you can breathe a bit easier (and cleaner).
