Flower petals you can add on your bath

Taking a floral bath is not only aesthetically pleasing—there are also numerous healing properties and physical benefits. By combining your favorite flower petals, herbs and oils, you can customize the perfect wellness treatment for yourself. Here are just a few of the types of flowers you can use and the benefits they provide:

  • Rose- this is the most common flower petal you can put in your bath because it is easy to grow, smells good and when you put in your bath, it looks very romantic. But roses do more than that. Here are a few of its benefits:
    • Antioxidant benefits- This is one of the major benefits that roses can bring to the skin. We all know that antioxidants are good for the skin, and the ones found in roses are no exception. These particular antioxidants help to strengthen skin cells, which in turn, can help regenerate skin tissues. On top of this, the antioxidants in roses work to neutralize free radicals, which can provide anti-aging benefits to the skin as well.
    • Neutralizes the production of oil on your skin- When it comes to moisturizing the skin, rose helps to balance out moisture, meaning it can help to control excess oil production. With this ingredient being so deeply hydrating, it increases water content in the skin as opposed to the level of oils; there are also astringent properties in roses that help to lift dirt and oil from the skin to help it maintain its natural pH balance.
  • Peony- often esteemed for their intoxicating fragrance. These scents range from sweet and rosy to citrusy and spicy. Surprisingly, not all peonies are fragrant but the most common peony is the color white and pink since it tends to be the most aromatic. And here are its benefits of peony when you put it on your bath.
    • Protects your skin from UV- Peony can help to protect your skin from oxidative stress it’s subjected to every single day. Those who live in sunny climates, spend a lot of time outdoors, or in cities where pollutants run amok can especially benefit from that. Skin that’s better protected from these stressors is less likely to develop premature wrinkling and fine lines, sun spots, and uneven texture.
  • Orchids- often were called ‘the perfect plant for the skin’ simply because it contains calcium, magnesium and zinc which are all beneficial to the skin. Not only does orchid petals and orchid oil moisture the skin it also boosts the skins immunity, reduces fine lines, signs of ageing and soothes the skin. Here is one more benefit of orchid:
    • Orchids can act as anti-inflammatory - Orchid petals are packed with anthocyanins, the plant pigments responsible for the pinkish, purple, and bluish colors of orchid varieties. The same pigment found in super fruits like blueberries, pomegranates, acai, and grapes (yes, even in the form of wine), anthocyanins are known for their anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and even anti-cancer properties
  • Jasmine plant is tropical and subtropical and is native to Asia, Africa and Australia. The flowers of the jasmine plant are most often white or pale yellow in color and they give off the very strong, sweet scent of jasmine. The scent of jasmine alleviates depression, lifts your mood and reduces your stress and anxiety levels. Not only that but it also has benefits to your skin:
    • Jasmine has anti-bacterial properties- jasmine has natural antibacterial properties that help to protect your skin from damage and to enhance the immunity of your skin. Jasmine is particularly beneficial to your skin as the seasons change and the weather and elements damage your skin. Addition to this is white petals of the jasmine flower increase and improves your skin’s elasticity while also balancing the moisture levels in your skin to reduce dryness.
    • It can lighten the appearance of scar on your skin- Jasmine petals are a cicatrizer which essentially means that can help heal and reduce the appearance of scars. It calms redness and inflammation and is soothing to the skin upon contact.
