Pumpkin Spice Bath Bomb

Pumpkin spice bath bomb smell just like the real thing, pumpkin pie spice, and will remind you of cozy autumn days. Use 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice for this easy bath bomb recipe, which may seem a lot but will give you that wonderful, rich pumpkin spice fragrance. Also, use a tiny amount of brown mica to enhance the color and decorate them with a sprinkle pumpkin pie spice.

Ingredients for your pumpkin spice bath bomb:

  • 2 cups Baking Soda
  • 1 1/4 cups Citric Acid
  • 1/2 cup Shea Butter
  • 2 tbsp Pumpkin Spice
  • 2 tbsp Kaolin Clay
  • 1 tsp Brown Mica
  • 1 tsp Polysorbate

Essential oils to be added in your pumpkin spice bath bomb:

The essential oils for pumpkin spice bath bombs include all the fragrance you’d expect in a warm essential oil blend for fall: warm nutmeg, spicy ginger, sweet cardamom with a hint of cinnamon and clove. Here’s what you need for a skin-safe pumpkin spice essential oil blend:

  • 15 drops nutmeg
  • 15 drop ginger
  • 15 drop clove
  • 10 drop cardamom
  • 5 drops cinnamon leaf

You can adjust the ratio to your personal preference. But don’t use more than suggested in the bath bomb recipe. Spice-based essential oils are very strong and can be irritating if too much is used.

How to make pumpkin spice bath bombs

Here are the steps to make pumpkin spice bath bombs:

  • Add the baking soda, citric acid, pumpkin pie spice, clay, and mica into a large mixing bowl and stir with a whisk to combine.
  • Melt the shea butter in a double boiler or the microwave. Set aside for 10 minutes to cool.
  • After 10 minutes, stir the essential oils and polysorbate 80 into melted shea butter.
  • Next add the liquids, 1 tablespoon at a time, to the dry ingredients and until the bath bomb mixture feels like wet hand. Knead with your hands to better feel the texture of the mixture.
  • Pile the bath bomb mixture loosely into the 2 halves of a sphere bath bomb mold. Do NOT pack and press the mixture into the mold because packing causes the mixture to stick to the mold.
  • Press the mold firmly together.
  • To release, tap the mold with the pack of a spoon. Then carefully lift 1 mold, turn the bath bomb around and remove the other mold.
  • Sprinkle the bath bombs with pumpkin pie spice and let dry for a few hours or overnight.

Add vanilla oleoresin creates a smell similar to pumpkin pie filling, while copaiba oleoresin and a few drops of frankincense represent the aroma of a freshly baked pie crust.   • 20 drops vanilla oleoresin
  • 15 drops copaiba oleoresin
  • 8 drops nutmeg
  • 8 drops ginger
  • 8 drops clove
  • 5 drops cinnamon leaf
  • 3 drops frankincense

How to make pumpkin pie bath bombs

  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together the baking soda, citric acid, pumpkin powder, clay, and pumpkin pie spice.
  • Melt the shea butter, let cool for 10 minutes then mix with the essential oils and poly 80.
  • Add to dry ingredients, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture feels like damp sand.
  • Form pumpkin pie bath bombs and let dry for a couple of hours.
